How Much Long-Termism Is Better Than 1%?

It's an open question to me of at what point does long-termism stop being an interesting thesis. At the moment, there are things that we could be investing radically more than. That are particularly beneficial for the long-term. When we go past that point, how much does acting to benefit the very long-term differ fromacting to benefit the short-term? And I become kind of unsure on that. It's permissible to spend some amount of our resources on just things that are important to us, even if they're not. The best way of doing good from what Sijuk calls the point of view of the universe.
