The Six Books by Bodar, a History of the Commonwealth
Bodar was educated in the Carmelite Order as a youngster. After being sent to Paris, he gained facility in both scholastic and humanist intellectual methods. He rejected the idea that Roman law would still be suitable for the needs of 16th century France. Bodar continued to hold out hope that a man of broad reading and great insight could devise a truly universal theory of politics. The six books is his attempt to show that he is that man.
