Brazil's Efforts to Broker Peace Have Gone Poorly

Bolsonaro's close ties to Donald Trump and Steve Bannon created the first convergence of interests between the Brazilian left and the US Democratic Party in decades. Lula has worked to establish some sort of negotiations to hopefully end the war in Ukraine. But a series of moves Lula has taken since then from refusing to send ammunition to Ukraine, to de-dollarization plans for trade with China must have State Department thinking about possibilities of fostering another coup in Brazil. The idea of trying to broker peace is a noble idea but it involves listening to both sides - something NATO isn't doing.
