Are We All Durkheimians Now?
In recent days we've heard a lot of talk about how we're all socialist or Corbinites now because of the radical state intervention. But in your recent London Review of Books article you write with reference to the French sociologist Emile Durkheim that we are all Durkheimians now. What I was alluding to was the fact that after decades of neoliberal reforms there is an embrace of a world view which is concerned with aggregate and averages as revealing some sort of truth about society.
