Is Alistair Kearns a Labour MP?

Alistair Kearns has been elected chair of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee. She beat Ian Duncan Smith and Lee on Fox to that, presumably because all Labour MPs voted for her. I think there were probably more serious reasons for that - she's not particularly liked on the Tory benches. What people tend to like is people who they think are going to be very independent of the government.
