The Argument for Openness and Self-Government in America

I don't take for granted that it's as simple as the fund, the CIA, or destroy the administrative state. It's not at all obvious to me that the kind of openness and self-government that I associate with the most vital periods of American life can simply be reconstituted. That might be a a bygone moment. But yeah, I certainly don't have the answers for how we would get back to it.
