Is There a Russian Tolstoy on the List?
There's no short story writers on here, and i think that's a significant absence. Cavafe is great for all the reasons that you mention. I can't help thinking that bloom was a little bit too devoted to the big and the bld and the brash. And it may be a something about bloom's own temperament maybe did not allow him to appreciate the kind of characters i appreciate - quiet and suffering silently.
