The Problem With Incentives

Incentives work when we understand them as an additional kind of mini-corn. The way we do it in cents is that often they obscure the purpose of why I'm doing it in the first place. And so, if there is no very clear long term reward for pursuing a goal, the only reason is that the short term incentives can actually make you forget about the long term goal.
