Why Your Art Is Better Than Yours
I've been guilty of this many, many times in the past. I try to take david hume's advice and reserve judgment about its being musically better just because there's some ostensible novelty that i see. Maybe i haven't seen every piece of art ever created. Maybe sponge bob square pans did not come up with the phrase concrete jungle. A common thing that people used to justify why their art is better than your art is complexity. The problem with this thinking isa, complexity does not necessarily imply superiority, right?
