The Role of Racism in the Development of Capitalism
There's this two different types of claims when we are talking about observing how racism as a very broad kind of baggy category interacts with the development of capitalism. And one is that, you know, it's just so happens that capitalism evolved in such and such a way with such and such forces and racism played a role. The other claim is that capitalism in its essence requires things such as racism to sustain itself. Can you talk to us a little bit about that and your work grapples with that distinction?
