Google's Pixelbud Pro has a spatializer algorithm that makes it sound like you're in different locations. The company also uses head-related transfer function or HRTF, which is also built into the algorithm to make it sound more like 3D sound. It still does a lot of work at the time when the movie is playing and decodes what people are saying.
