"I probably worked on this book harder than anything I've ever worked on," she said. "It was just, I cared about it so much and I wanted to make it as good as it could possibly be in a very challenging time." She kept her work secret for fear of being judged by fans or people who were familiar with the story. Her husband is also a big Durandran fan; he didn't get any feedback that sort of altered course of the book.
