Symbology in the American Left

Both the left and the right have used graphic symbols in the modern era, say, from 19 hundred onwards. This last is the most common modern political symbology. Traditionally, monarchs of their country served as symbols, though little is left of that. So this is of no real relevance to day, except in occasional cults of personality. And third, graphic images of no independent meaning, what would be called fanciful or arbitrary under trade mark law.
