The Importance of Paying Attention to Politics
There is no way of getting underneath at least paying attention to politics. No one can be a good democratic citizen and ignore politics because you cannot know whether ignoring it is, whether you're ignoring the rise of a dictator or whatever. And so there's this one argument that floats around that runs something like, well, look,you can do more good for society by doing work in the market. But making that decision requires you to pay attention to politics; if you are ignoring politics, you can't make that decision in an informed way.
