The Four Sisters
I wanted the story to be fun and light and celebratory, but also not really hide some of the barriers that Black Americans had at that time. I think one of the themes in addition to the romance novel is the sibling ship. And the relationships were really important to me. In having the four different points of view, I think allowed me to explore how siblings can be in the same household, but have their own personalities,. Their own goals. So I was happy that I got to present those different stories.
