Godner's Prejudices of History and Tradition Enabled Me to Reason
Godner: Most Marxists left his critiques of utopia follow from a prejudice. Godner claims that in the Enlightenment's drive to release reason from superstition and immaturity, it ended up mistaking social and historical character of our capacity for reason. Descartes' method of radical doubt is symptomatic of the now contemporary hubris that reason can ground itself, he says.
