Hinduism in West Africa and the African Diaspora

Hinduism was spread to west africa in the 19th century. The Indian government sponsored cultural programmes and sent hindu swamis to different countries for lectures. Some of these soldiers who served in world war told other ganans and nigerians about hinduism, such that there was interest int for people like ussamigan - first african monk. So they're these very diverse strands, actually, and they're sort of percolating um, and they's incorporated into various activities happen,. religious activities happening in west africa.
