How to Protect Your Portfolio in a Bear Market
Diversification is all about selecting items that move independently at the rest of the portfolio. If you have a perfect correlation in anything, it's going to be hard to make the portfolio go up or down. So as I'm going down, and as I'm timed out of some of these sector positions, I'm peeling off pieces of my hedge. And that allows me to keep them balanced throughout the trade. It's another great way to protect yourself in a bear market.
