The Energy Hogs in Agriculture

In both of these industries, grain fed cattle and using corn to produce ethanol as a kind of inferior vehicle fuel are the two things that consume the most energy. And they're very popular though in rural America because like the Food Stamp program, they're excellent ways of getting rid of surplus grain. But it soaks up a lot of corn; even red or blue states, Illinois always lobbies hard for ethanol.
