LIGO and Virgo are detecting gravitational waves from black holes in our own galaxy. The biggest of those reports happens when they finally come together and merge. We can detect that by watching the distance between two mirrors where you've got a laser firing back and forth measuring the distance between them very, very accurately. And so what we have to do is build bigger and bigger detectors for this kind of event.
