Is a and B Incompatible? I Don't Believe the Pointless Suffering Exists

There are Christian theists who do believe that there's pointless suffering or gratuitous suffering. Peter Vanen Wagon would be an example of one of these. So this is evil in a moral sense, such as when someone does a terrible wrong. And if they're right, then A and B are not incompatible with each other.
