Stalin was a lumpen proletarian thug. He was a gang leader. But again, if Trotsky can't do it and he's going to help eliminate Bukharan and then stand there with a bunch of people who he can't lead,. If that's the only guy left at that point, of course you pick Stalin. Of course you do socialism in one country. There's at this point there's no alternative. And this is why Trotsky is to this day split off all the time because they are waiting for deliverance to save them from having to go against their beliefs.
