The Bulgarian Transition After the Fall of the Berlin Wall
The level of the Bulgarian-US relations is not what it should be. The US doesn't have a lot of economic or military interests in Bulgaria. Some Bulgarian officials are eager to make some, by the way, very small money by selling such information to the Russian embassy. This unfortunately happens and law enforcement agents also sometimes sell information to the international organized crime. Possibly this is a reason why Bulgaria has not joined the border free Schengen space.
