The promise of the spirit would come with the Messiah and give people that intimate relationship with God, right? Where God's spirit is poured out onto their hearts. This is a key passage we know in Paul's day for Jewish hopes. We're given the gift of the spirit, but the gift is meant to transform us. It's meant to enable us.
