The Cheating in Multicellular Cooperation
Cancer is when that multicellular cooperation breaks down so that's why it's called the cheating cell. You can have selection for cells that are cancerous because they can get a short term evolutionary advantage right through this cheating. But over the evolutionary time of you know this time scales at organisms live on. You have selection for organisms that are better at suppressing cancer. And so you have this sort of conflict between these two levels of selection you know of natural selection evolution.
