I think there is a very specific picture that's been painted of the African continent in the British and generally European and Western media. And even when we kind of are honest about that history, it tends to be very negative. So much of global culture is still shaped by new generations of African artists. I really wanted with this series to take a very honest look at what life is like creating in African countries.
