Is There a Standard Solution?
I think the problem with pushing that complexity onto API writers is that everybody's going to solve it differently. Instead of one concurrency paradigm to learn, you'd have like GCD, promise kit, RX Swift and so on. And if you're an experienced developer, you're probably going to have to learn all of those. So it's not saving you any sort of like learning effort by not having a standard solution built in.
