Jenifer bosson used to believe there was a straightforward answer to that question. Her mother taught her at a very young age about sexism and missageny. College was when she began to realize how the world restricted the choices of men. If women are attracted to the occupation, then it becomes something that women do, and men would perhaps hesitate to enter.
