The Adventures of Pike Wilkinson

Pike would depart from Fort Belfontaine in St. Louis on July 15th, 1806. Pike had 22 soldiers with him, including 17 of his damned rascals. The expedition started out by heading up the Missouri River to the Osage River. As with his trip up the Mississippi, Pike and his better hunters would walk along the bakes and hunt while they went. It was not unlike the expedition's Jefferson had set out previously, including Lewis and Clark's.
