The Legal Ownership of the Parthenan Sculptures by the British Museum

I'm in no way bitter at being beaten for the presence of the Oxford Union by Lord Elgin's second son. This is not where this campaign started 40 years ago. Not that I want to add grist to the mill, the Tory establishment is just Oxford debaters gone wrong. The best exhibition I ever went to was when the Hermitage lent the entire collection that Horace Walpole had sold to Catherine the Great. But I also accepted that the legal owner of those paintings sold them legitimately to somebody else. So tough frankly.
