The Evolution of Killy Fish
In the 1990s, researchers began to realize that killy fish weren't normally able to just deal with these sorts of chemicals. These populations had actually evolved and now had traits that they passed down through their genes from generation to generation. Their bodies have basically just evolved to ignore a whole menu of toxic pollutants. The pollution is affecting these fish in many ways, through many different cellular pathways in their bodies,. And they're doing just fine.
