The federal bureaucracy is the sort of broadly speaking academic billionaire funded expert class in the United States. All of them have looked at the loss of their own power and prestige and decided that that is the fault of a kind of demonic possession of the internet by these dark and evil forces. And so therefore, if only they could purge those forces, they could recapture that prestige and authority. But it's not possible.
