Is Decentralization a Red Herring or a Grift?
I think there's still a lot of opportunity on the web. I would say decentralization in that form would probably be quite a good thing. Whether it requires a technical mechanism like block chains, that just strikes me as kind of adding trendy things together to get something that's purportedy even more trendyi. Just, i i don't see that at all, period. Leaving aside the environmental impact of computing to make block chain stuff work. So collor me pretty sceptical. But, you know, maybe i could be convinced. Maybe it's another one of these things where the future was before me and i didn't see it.
