U e f i stands for unified extensible firm ware inher face. It's like a next generation standard to replace bios, which lives on an eprom chip in your mother board. Bios is awesome because it's so minimal, there's almost nothing that can go wrong. Whereas u e f i is significantly bigger and makes all these other interfaces. That's where it rubs some lenox people the wrong way, is that it kind of a proto operating system that won't let you do what you want with your hardware.
