Just 2.5 million people in Niger voted for Muhammad Bazum out of the population of 27 million, and he was elected by a tiny fraction of the population. The Economist magazine is acknowledging that only 27% of Nigerians want him to be put back in power. If you look at his policies, it's very easy to explain why he was acting on behalf of the interests of Western governments and corporations - not on behalf of Nigerian people.
