Today, I'm speaking with Daniel Avancini, Chief Data Officer and Co-Founder of Indicium. Indicium is a fast-growing data consultancy originally started in Brazil. There are a lot of data consultancies in the world, and a lot of them do great work. We started off our journey as a data consultancy called Fishtown Analytics, so I have a tremendous amount of respect for the work that goes into this journey. But that's not why I wanted to have Daniel on. What has been so fascinating about Indicium's journey is their HR model. Rather than hiring a bunch of experienced professionals and putting them out to work, they decided to go hard on training. They've built a talent pipeline via courses. They've built an internal onboarding process that takes new employees from zero to 60 over the course of a few months. The result has been phenomenal. Indicium delivers great client outcomes, is growing fast, but most importantly, they're building skills for hundreds of brand new data professionals. Data is a hard field to break into because fundamentally you can't do the real thing unless you have access to data. And most interesting data is proprietary. So any company that is investing in building scalable hiring and training processes for analytical talent is one that I am excited about. Without further ado, let's get into it.
