The Treasury Market and the Global Sovereign Debt Market

The total amount of marketable Treasury securities held by all these major players is over 10 trillion dollars. The private sector, whether it be pension funds, hedge funds households, et cetera, has to take down greater and greater share of that money. We're seeing the ECB to shrink its balance sheet. The Bank of England shrink its balancesheet. The GOC has shrunk its balance sheet as well in recent months. That's an issue for the Treasury market it's anissue for global sovereign debt markets broadly.
