Childhood Poverty and Abuse Can Hurt Adult Heart Health

The 1958 National Child Development Study followed more than 17,000 English, Scottish, and Welsh children born in the same week in 1958. The study included blood pressure and cholesterol scores when these kids were no longer kids, but 45 years old. It turns out that if you're in a better mental space as a kid, you'll have healthier blood Pressure and cholesterol. And those results were true even after taking into account things like socioeconomic status and sex.
