Why Do We Stay in Emotional Relationships?
Prior to his stroke, and during my twenties, i was addicted to menthal tobacco. For this reason, i am intimate familiar with the stories we tell ourselves and others about why we are engaging in these destructive behaviors. My favorite excuse for smoking was that cigarettes slowed my brain down enough so i could type as quickly as i could think. I eventually stop cold turkey when my mother offered me ten dollars a day for every day i did not smoke for the rest of my life. After celebrating three months, i was so elated to be a non smoker that i let my malm off the hook.
