I try to carry a bunch of different people with me when I'm writing. Alan is Mike's boyfriend and collaborator and piano player in the live band. They're like an old married couple. We recorded most of the record on this binaural head, like a Neumann microphone. It looks exactly like a human head, like whole torso and head.
