The Ones We Couldn't Be - A Story Song
I can't remember you ever writing that kind of song before. They're story tellers songs. I i deliberately wanted to do some something different, like a story song. And back in two thousand and 18 i saw a news programme which finished with a human interest segment on an organ donation. So i knew right then i was write a song about it. The song is about the recipient of her son's heart, whic as as a child, spending 20 years trying to find her so he could share that with her. That she gave him life and she gave them both.
