The Greatest Gift You Can Give to Yourself
I think one of the greatest gifts you, anyone can give to himself is learning about a significantly different culture. I feel like when he was reading unvrersian writers, he must have felt, i completely kind of indulged in that a culture. He wouldn't have produced am as authenticly to himself and to others without getting to know other people around the world. It's fiendishly hard to get an outside perspective from somewhere else on your own default settings - it's trying to look at the back of your head in a mirror.
