How to Recruit Early Users

As founders how broad or how narrow should one think of their initial customer set? I think it will depend on what are you solving for. So we started with the user side of it as to why and how they feel the platform should be. We were talking to a lot of people on the user side but to your question right how to recruit those early users is just by doing research.
