What Distorts Testing?
The reason why they exist is because we now know that the answer to the question, what distorts testing is pretty much everything. So you need to standardize a lot of things to try and minimize the bias that will inevitably creep into any assessment. You do that, so you're trying to remove the bias as much as possible. And then, it lots a different way, you can standardize lots of different tests. If you've got an item on a test, it isn't trying to check whether you know the answer to this question. It's trying to check, are you the kind of people who can answer this question correctly? That's a key distinction. They might be aligned
