Just Upgrading the Database, Right?

Amazon took years to upgrade its DTC database, which is the back end of Wall Street's trading system. Now you imagine doing that for like dozens or hundreds of companies that are all reading and writing to the same database. And now I add on top of it, regulations that basically require DTC and make it illegal to think of it innovating. You've got this enormous collective action problem where just upgrading the database, it's not that easy to do.
