What's the Relationship Between Theodicy and Theodosis?

There's a real lineage between the idea of theodicy that God has a master plan and the conspiracy theory, right? And I even think fundamentalists are in this sense. Like they'll score a goal or they'll get a touchdown and they'll go, thanks to God for helping me get to them. It's like a humble brag. The point is that it's comforting.
