The Rise of Chinese Consultancy Companies

In March, Chinese authorities raided the Beijing office of a diligence company called Mintz Group. In late April, another US consultancy group, Bain and Company, confirmed that local police had visited their office in Shanghai to question some staff. But last week things escalated, where authorities announced they had raided offices in Shanghai, Beijing, Suzhou and Shenzhen of a company called CatVision. The state TV channel CCTV aired a current affairs-style segment showing one of these raids of a CatVision office.
