Are We Too Far Away From It?

There are so many lessons we have not learned about preservation or there's so much hubris, says Julian Zelizer. The process whereby which we nominate Supreme Court justices and approve them is not a very democratic process by design,. If the president doesn't unilaterally, the Congress has no say, it's just the Senate. And I think that makes people cynical and also like very confused because it seems like they're very important but it's difficult to sort of pin down what people's politics are.
