Bi station announced that by september twentieth, they planned to be giving out boosters on a broad scale in the united states. This announcement met with pushback from senior career scientists and then from scientists outside the government. A new england journal article reports on one particular case, where israel launched its third vaccination campaign involving boosters. In that study, they staggered their roll oup, initially targeting the 60 plus population, eventually reaching the younger population. They found that administering boosters to the oldest population did reduce infections as well as severe disease and hospitalizations.
