"The party was in raging swing with two camps. So sort of the Sophistos were kind of off in the corner, disapproving and saying, that's not music," he says. "And then these young kids who, I don't even know if they were called punks yet." The vertical dancing is now a part of popular culture but it wasn't until '70s when people started to do it their own way.
